FEVER Herbal and Water Treatment

Fever (also known as pyrexia) is a common medical sign characterized by an elevation of body temperature above the normal range of 36.5–37.5 °C (98–100 °F) due to an increase in the temperature regulatory set-point. This increase in set-point triggers increased muscle tone and shivering.

Water Treatment

1. Give sponge bath to patient. Use warm water If the fever is high but the arms and feet are cold. Cold water if the skin is hot and dry. Lukewarm water for normal skin temperature. Do this 3x a day or repeat when necessary.

2. Keep the patient lying in bed and put cold poultice in patient's forehead.

3. Wash the patients feet with hot water.

4. Drink water or fruit juice every hour when awake.

Herbal Remedy for Fever Due to Viral Infection

1. Vinegar - add 2 tablespoon of vinegar to a basin of cool water, use this to your poultice if ice is not available.

2. Star fruit (Balimbing) - Boil 2 cups of chopped Start fruit leaves in 1/2 gallon of water. Separate chopped leaves using strainer and let cool for 2 hours. Use this to your poultice if ice is not available..

3. Ginger Lily (Kamias) - Boil 3 cups of chopped Ginger Lily leaves in a 1 gallon of water. Separate leaves using strainer. Use this to your poultice hot or cold.

4. Lilac Tasselflower (Tagulinaw) - Boil 1 cup of freshly chopped leaves in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes.

             Dosage:
                      Adult - 1 cup every 4 hours
                      Infant - 1 tablespoon every 4 hours
                      Children 2-6 years old - 1/4 cup every 4 hours
                      Children 7-12 years old - 1/2 cup every 4 hours

5. Okra - Roast okra seeds and pound to powder. Boil 1/2 cup of powdered roasted okra seeds in 2cups of water for 15 minutes. Strain and let cool.

           Dosage:
                       Adult - 1 cup 3x a day every after meal.
                       Infant - 1 tablespoon 3x a day every after meal
                       Children 2-6 years old - 1/4 cup, 3x a day every after meal
                       Children 7-12 years old - 1/2 cup, 3x a day every after meal.

6. Five-leaved Chaste tree (Lagundi) - Boil 4 tablespoon of dried,chopped Lagundi leaves or 6 tablespoon of fresh leavesin 2 cups of water for 15 minutes.

         Dosage:
                     Adult - 1 cup every 4 hours
                     Infant - 1 tablespoon every 4 hours
                     Children 7-12 years old - 1/2 cup every 4 hours.


Tip: Its better to use clay pot in boiling herbs.
